Description

Anasept® Antimicrobial Skin and Wound Cleanser is an extremely safe and gentle skin and wound cleanser with rapid broad-spectrum bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties through the action of sodium hypochlorite. Most pathogenic organisms, including MRSA, VRE, and Pseudomonas, are eliminated within 2 minutes or less following topical application. There is no known microbial resistance to Anasept®.  It is a pure, completely colorless, isotonic, tissue-compatible solution.

Anasept® helps in the mechanical removal or debris and foreign material at the application site. Studies indicate that this product pierces and eliminates biofilm which can prevent a wound site from healing.  It is very effective when used in conjunction with the wound VAC.

Directions for use: Spray Anasept® Antimicrobial Skin and Wound Cleanser onto entire area or saturate sterile gauze and apply to site.  Airdry for 2 minutes.

This product is being utilized by some VAD patients as a cleansing agent to reduce the risk of infection  or to aid in the treament of  infections at the driveline exit site.  Anasept® is approved by the FDA as an antimicrobial product and to be most effective, it should be used daily when the dressing is changed.
